Redfern Telephone Exchange, External Cladding

Located in the heart of Redfern in NSW, the Redfern Telephone exchange is a prominent building in the neighbouring landscape. Surrounded by lower-lying brick structures the building is/was an icon of the area. So when the brickwork started fretting the building managers decided that swift action was required – not only to rectify the known and any latent issues but to ensure that the facade of the building would remain a prominent feature for all the right reasons, for years to come.
Having worked with external consultants to select the appropriate way to undertake the structural upgrade works, Remedial was appointed to rectify concrete repair to the roof, walls and some lintels. With this complete phase two began – the installation of external wall cladding.

INSTALLATION OF FIRE RETARDANT ALUMINIUM PANELLING

Having received sound advice, the decision was made to install Alpolic an aluminium composite cladding material that not only looks fantastic but offers safety due to its high fire-retardant core.
Over a period of months, the panelling was fixed to the building with little to no impact on the building residents.
