Intumescent Paint

Protect structural steel against fire damage with a range of intumescent paints

Intumescent sealant or paint is a popular passive fire protection material. It works by swelling in the event of a fire (a process known as charring) to slow down the steel’s exposure to heat; thereby staving off the threat of your building collapsing.

Benefits of applying intumescent coatings:

  • Easy application and lower labour cost: often a single layer can provide the required fire resistance
  • Good bond strength and low ongoing maintenance even without a finish coat
  • Will not absorb moisture which is effective against preventing corrosion
  • Low VOC

At Remedial, we have long-standing relationship with Permax, a key supplier of both water-based and hybrid intumescent paints from Nullfire.
